I’m a husband to my wife, Erin, and a dad to three pretty amazing kids. Family is at the center of just about everything I do. I enjoy cooking and baking, and some of my favorite moments are gathering around a table to share good food with the people I care about. Sports have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, especially baseball—a passion passed down to me by my dad. These days, I enjoy sharing that love of sports with my own kids.
One of the greatest joys in my life is finding ways to combine my hobbies with time spent with my family. Whether it's playing baseball in the yard, watching a Phillies game, exploring a museum, or heading out on a family adventure, those shared experiences are the memories I treasure most.
What I love most about Hartwell & Company is that relationships come first. As a smaller firm, we truly know one another, and everyone on our team has the opportunity to build meaningful connections with our clients. I also appreciate that we serve people who are much like us—families, business owners, and individuals trying to make wise decisions for their future. Because of that, our client relationships feel genuine and personal, which makes the work incredibly rewarding.
One of the most challenging seasons of my life was relocating to Michigan. We moved to be closer to family, but we arrived not knowing anyone and started a new chapter during a Michigan winter with two young children. Not long after, the COVID pandemic changed everything. Having spent most of my life in larger metropolitan areas, the adjustment was difficult. What made the difference was finding a strong church community and building meaningful relationships. Over time, we found our groove, and what once felt unfamiliar became a place where our family could thrive.
Outside of work and family, I’m proud of two things. First earning my bachelor’s degree while paying for it entirely on my own. It wasn’t easy, but the experience taught me discipline, perseverance, and the value of hard work. Second, taking the leap to move abroad and teach English as a Second Language. It was a path I never imagined for myself growing up, but it became one of the most formative experiences of my life. Not only did I have the opportunity to live overseas and experience different cultures, but it also led me to meet my wife—a decision that changed the course of my life forever.
