I’m a coffee-drinking dad and grandfather who loves spending time outdoors, enjoying God’s creation with my wife, Dawn, our children, grandchildren, and friends. Whether I’m bicycling, running, working in the yard, or relaxing with a good book, I appreciate the simple things in life. I also enjoy a competitive game of Euchre and playing chess with my grandkids. My goal is to live a disciplined life, faithfully following the Lord and being a good steward of the responsibilities He has entrusted to me.
One of my greatest joys is spending time with the people I care about most. I enjoy working in the yard and bringing order out of chaos, whether that means tackling a project at home or helping others create a path toward their goals. A good bike ride, a long run, or meaningful conversations with family and friends are always high on my list.
At Hartwell & Company, I wear many hats as I help lead our businesses and serve our clients. What I enjoy most is coming alongside individuals and families, helping them make informed decisions and create a plan for the future. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a well-crafted strategy come to fruition. We have the privilege of helping people live the life they want while navigating taxes and financial decisions in a way that brings confidence, clarity, and joy to the journey.
One of the greatest personal challenges I have faced was navigating the separation from a longtime friend and business partner. That season taught me invaluable lessons about faith, trust, and perseverance. Through prayer, wise counsel, and God's faithfulness, I learned that while we cannot always control our circumstances, we can control how we respond to them. Looking back, I can see how that experience ultimately made us stronger and better prepared for the future.
One accomplishment I am particularly proud of is completing five marathons. As a child, I struggled to run because of illness, so crossing those finish lines represented far more than a physical achievement. They serve as a reminder that perseverance, discipline, and consistency can help us overcome obstacles and accomplish things we may have once thought impossible.
